Redeem

RedeemTo Buy the freedom of; Gain possession of in exchange for payment.

God used the word Redeem, in its various forms, 162 times in Scripture: 140 times to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament; 4 times to Israel in their Koine Greek Old Testament; 12 times to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace and Dispensation of Grace; and 6 times to Israel in their tribulation books of Hebrews thru Revelation.

The redemption of man is not mandatory, you can refuse it.  The refusal can be by openly refusing to believe God, or by simply ignoring Scripture.  The most common open-refusal is by following or practicing religion; refusing to believe God Exclusively and Explicitly according to Rightly Divided Scripture.  Christianity refuses to Rightly Divide Scripture, intermingling dispensations and inventing their own versions and methods of acceptance.

Redemption by God is the result of faith in action according to the standards of God for the dispensation that is in effect at the time you are living.  For us today, we are redeemed by believing God Exclusively and Explicitly according to the Gospel of Grace.

We, the redeemed, are bought by God.  Jesus Christ made the payment with His blood on the cross.  God  gained possession of us in exchange for that payment.

It is important to understand that Redeemed is different than Justified or Saved.

Israel’s redemption comes when they enter their promised kingdom; they must remain faithful to the end; they can lose their salvation. (Isaiah 1:21-31)

The Body of Christ’s redemption is immediate and permanent; members of the Body of Christ cannot lose their salvation because we are a new creature in Christ.
