Salvation

SalvationProtection or preservation from destruction, danger, calamity, etc.

God used this word 164 times in Scripture: 119 times to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament; 6 times to Israel in their Koine Greek Old Testament (Matthew thru John); Once to Israel in the transition book of Acts; 4 times to the Body of Christ in the transition book of Acts; 20 times to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace (Romans thru Philemon); and 14 times to Israel’s Little Flock in their tribulation books (Hebrews thru Revelation).

Don’t confuse Salvation with Redemption or Justification.

In Israel’s Masoretic Text Old Testament, salvation is a reference to God’s literal intervention for the protection of Israel.  At the end of Malachi, God stopped providing salvation to Israel or any individuals; this was the beginning of God’s 400 years of silence.

In Israel’s Koine Greek Old Testament (Matthew thru John), Jesus was sent to Israel to provide for Israel’s salvation; that salvation was still an Israel-only provision … no gentiles allowed.  But at that point, God’s salvation is not protection from gentiles and outside forces, but instead from the wrath of God.

  1. Jesus is Israel’s salvation from the wrath of God.
  2. To have salvation, Israel must repent and be baptized … for the remission of sin.
  3. Israel’s sins are remitted, they are not redeemed.
  4. Their sins are not redeemed (blotted out) until they enter into their promised kingdom after their great tribulation; after the end of the 70th week of Daniel.
  5. To keep their salvation, they cannot sin again; if they sin again, they must repent again.
    • Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
    • Luke 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days!  for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
    • John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

In the Dispensation of Grace, according to the Gospel of Grace (Romans thru Philemon), there is no Divine Intervention to protect anyone from physical harm; salvation is still about being saved from the wrath of God.

  • Romans 1:18-19 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; [19] Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
  • Romans 5:9-10 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. [10] For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
  • Ephesians 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
  • Colossians 3:6-7 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: [7] In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
  • I Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
  • I Thessalonians 5:9-10 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, [10] Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

But now, all people of all nations equally, including Israel, can be saved from the wrath of God.  Also, the process for salvation is different.

Instead of repentance for the remission of sin, you must believe God Exclusively and Explicitly according to Rightly Divided Scripture; the gospel of your salvation, which is contained entirely in the Gospel of Grace (Romans thru Philemon).  Upon abandoning religion (Christianity) and believing God Exclusively and Explicitly according to Rightly Divided Scripture, you are redeemed.

Today, if you are Redeemed it is because you are Justified, and you are automatically Saved from the wrath of God.  In the Dispensation of Grace, salvation apart from redemption isn’t even possible.  Being redeemed, you become a new creature and cannot ever lose your salvation; Grace without Law.

Following the Dispensation of Grace, in Israel’s tribulation period, God’s tenants of salvation change again.  Israel is again called by the Gospel of the Kingdom outlined by Jesus in Israel’s Koine Greek Old Testament, but under their New Covenant; Messianic Law; a kingdom of priests … no gentiles allowed.  They can be redeemed and become member of Israel’s Little Flock.  But because they are not a New Creature, they can lose their redemption.

If a redeemed Israelite, which is a member of Israel’s Little Flock, willfully sins after their redemption, there is no second chance.

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Israel’s Little Flock salvation is still from the wrath of God; they will suffer the torments of Israel’s great tribulation until the return of Christ, but they are saved from the wrath of God.
