LORD/Lord/lord

LORD/Lord/lord

lord – All lower case is indicative as a title of authority on earth that is held by men. It occurs 289 times in Scripture; 240 times in the Masoretic Text Old Testament; 42 times to Israel in the Koine Greek Old Testament Gospels; 4 times to the Body of Christ between Acts 13 and Philemon; and 3 times to Israel in the tribulation books of Hebrews-Revelation.

Lord – title case is a title of the supreme being in authority over all of creation with supreme deity. It occurs 1,141 times in Scripture; 459 times to Israel in the Masoretic Text Old Testament, 209 times to Israel in the Koine Greek Old Testament; 62 times to Israel in the book of Acts (1-12); 44 times by Paul in the book of Acts; 280 times to the Body of Christ in the Pauline epistles; and 131 times to Israel in the tribulation books of Hebrews-Revelation.

LORD – All uppercase LORD is the designation of the person JEHOVAH in the position of God Almighty, the supreme being in authority over all of creation, the possessor of Heaven and Earth.  We know it is also indicative of rank and authority, such as the President, because of the definite article ‘the’ that precedes ‘LORD’.

The proper name of God Almighty is JEHOVAH.  Using LORD is the same as saying “JEHOVAH God Almighty the Supreme Deity of Creation, The possessor of Heaven and Earth”.

All uppercase LORD occurs 6,586 times in Scripture; 6,581 times to Israel in the Masoretic Text Old Testament; 3 times TO Israel in the Koine Greek Old Testament Gospel accounts, quoting Psalm 110:1; once to Israel in the transition book of Acts 2:34, also quoting Psalm 110:1; God never used LORD in the Gospel of Grace to the Body of Christ; and the last usage is in Revelation 16:16, wherein it is an inscription, a label, or name-tag wherein every word is in all uppercase, and is therefore not applicable to this rule.

When we get to the Koine Greek, JEHOVAH, God the Father, the possessor of heaven and earth, is no longer referred to as LORD (all uppercase).  God the father is now distinguished simply as God in title case, or Father in title case, and the deity of Jesus Christ is indicated in the use of title case Lord or title case Son.
