Armageddon – A Hebrew word har məgiddô, meaning The Range of Megiddo.
This word is only used Once in Scripture, to all nations in the tribulation book of Revelation.
The book of Revelation is a warning and instruction to all of mankind. In the book of Revelation, God reveals the details of Israel’s prophesied 70th week of Daniel. None of those things can occur until after the Dispensation of Grace is complete and the Body of Christ has been removed from the earth.
The false doctrine of Christianity concerning the book of Revelation, and stories of Armageddon, are prolific in the world and accepted as Presumed Public Knowledge. So, I am sure that you have heard some version about Armageddon.
So, what are the facts according to Scripture?
- If you are alive when this is even possible for you to experience, then your religion has led you astray.
In Revelation 16:12-16, the 6th angel pours out his vial upon the great river Euphrates and the water thereof was dried up, making the way ready for the kings of the earth to assemble, God causes them to be “gathered together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon” … for the battle of “that great day of God Almighty”.
The way is ready, but the battle did not occur right then.
Before there is a battle at Armageddon, the 7th angel pours out his vile in Revelation 16:17. The pouring of the vile into the air causes a string of events; thunder, lightning, giant hail, and the biggest earthquake that the earth has ever seen.
- The kings that attend the battle against ‘the Lord’ are the 10 kings described in Revelation 17:12. “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.” They are not kingdoms that exist today, but they are the kingdoms of the earth and the world at that time. (Revelation 17:14 “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them:”)
- The “great day of God Almighty”, and the battle, actually occurs at the very end of Israel’s 70th week … after the wrath of God has been poured out on the earth and the world for 7 years … in Revelation 19:11-21; but the location of that battle is not disclosed. By inference, it is assumed that it happens in The Range of Megiddo.
What is clear is that, at the conclusion of this battle, Jesus Christ takes charge as King of the earth and the world; King of kings and Lord of lords.
