God used this word, in various forms, 53 times in Scripture: 6 times to Israel in the Masoretic Text Old Testament (Genesis-Malachi); 19 times to Israel in the Koine Greek Old Testament (Matthew-John); 18 times in the transition book of Acts concerning Paul; 5 times to the Body of Christ (Romans-Philemon); and 5 times to Israel in the tribulation books (Hebrews-Revelation).
Being ‘called to account’ would be a rightful accusation. ‘Making a complaint against’ does not mean that it is rightful accusation; a person may be falsely accused.
