Blame – To assign responsibility for a fault or wrong.
God used this word 24 times in Scripture: 5 times to Israel in the Masoretic Text Old Testament; Twice to Israel in the Koine Greek Old Testament; 16 times to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace; and once to Israel in the tribulation book of II Peter.
The assignment of blame is the issue of accountability, which may, or may not, include a penalty. Even if there is no penalty, the result of blame always includes reproach.
