Grief / Grieve

Grief (n) Hardship, suffering, pain, bodily affliction.

Grieve(v) To inflict injury, hardship, or sorrow on; To oppress or wrong.

God used this word in its various forms 123 times in Scripture: 99 times to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament; 7 times to Israel in their Koine Greek Old Testament (Matthew thru John); Once to Israel in the transition book of Acts; 3 times to the Body of Christ in the transition book of Acts; 6 times to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace (Romans thru Philemon); and 7 times to Israel’s Little Flock in their tribulation books (Hebrews thru Revelation).

The true meaning of this word-form was corrupted in the 16th Century by inclusion of “Deep or intense sorrow or distress, especially at the death of someone”.  The corrupt addition to the meaning is never a used by God in Scripture.  God used specific words for the elements of that corruption.

To grieve God or the Holy Spirit in this dispensation, you must be a member of the Body of Christ: Christians are not members of the Body of Christ.

Grieving the holy Spirit of God is when a member of the Body of Christ inflicts sorrow upon their sanctified Spirit by the injurious act of choosing to abandon or disregard Rightly Divided Scripture: Having been redeemed, they choose to stop believing God Exclusively and Explicitly and pollute the truth of Rightly Divided Scripture with religion or religious practices: believe, follow, or teach the false doctrine of religion (Christianity):  injecting or commingling religious doctrines, practices, beliefs, customs, rites, rituals, etc. with the truth of Rightly Divided Scripture.

If a person has never been redeemed according to Rightly Divided Scripture and been placed by God into the Body of Christ (if they have Christian salvation), they don’t have a holy Spirit to grieve.
