God used this word in its various forms 34 times in Scripture: never to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament or Koine Greek Old Testament; 27 times to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace (Romans thru Philemon); and 7 times to Israel in their tribulation books (Hebrews thru Revelation).
In Israel’s Old Testament books (Genesis thru John), Israel lived according to the Law of Moses without argument or appeal and the gentiles were excluded. It was not until the Gospel of Grace and a person’s individual choice that provided for any argument or appeal for salvation or redemption by God.
