God used this word in its various forms 12 times in Scripture: 5 times to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament; 3 times to Israel in their Koine Greek Old Testament; Once to Israel in the transition book of Acts; Once to the Body of Christ, concerning Paul, in the transition book of Acts; and once to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace.
Today, this word has been corrupted from its original meaning; it has been redefined to mean “Ask someone earnestly or anxiously to do something; Ask earnestly or anxiously for something”.
When you apply the modern meaning to Scripture you turn the Word of God into a lie. God said what He meant, and He meant what He said … don’t change the words or the meanings.
