Contrary – Opposite in nature or character.
God used this word 24 times in Scripture: 10 times to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament; 2 times to Israel in their Koine Greek Old Testament (Matthew thru John); 5 times to the Body of Christ in the transition book of Acts; and 7 times to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace (Romans thru Philemon).
The greatest example of contrary behavior is Christianity. Of their many contrary teachings and activities, here are just a few.
- They claim to serve Jehovah, but they disregard Rightly Divided Scripture and serve their religion; ignoring God and clinging to their religious doctrine and traditions.
- They claim to love Jesus Christ, but they call Him a liar by their disregard of Rightly Divided Scripture: Clinging to the instructions of religion instead of God’s instructions for their dispensation.
- They go to great lengths to celebrate the birthday of Jesus and his instructions to Israel, but they ignore, dispute, and discredit His instructions for us today.
- They claim ‘Salvation’, but they oppose God’s Redemption instructions to our dispensation while clinging to the traditions and superstitions of their religion.
