Bosom – The enclosure formed by the breast and the arms; An area between the breast and a covering garment.

God used this word 41 times in Scripture: 36 times to Israel in the Masoretic Text Old Testament; and 5 times to Israel in the Koine Greek Old Testament.

God used this word in both senses.  The first sense is much like a hug, which disappears when you open your arms.

The second sense of the word is a place to hold things in secret, confidence, or security.  Prior to the invention of pockets, people either carried a purse or kept things in their bosom.
