Wherefore

Wherefore – (adv) For what cause or reason? (in the form of a question); For which reason (as a statement).

This word appears 348 times in Scripture: 244 times to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament; 17 times to Israel in their Koine Greek Old Testament (Matthew thru John); 3 times to Israel in the transition book of Acts; 13 times to the Body of Christ in the transition book of Acts; 46 times to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace (Romans thru Philemon); and 25 times to Israel’s Little Flock in their tribulation books (Hebrews thru Revelation).

The term “for the which” also appears in Scripture 9 times: 8 times to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament; and Once to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace book of II Timothy.

The distinction between ‘wherefore’ and ‘for the which’, both being statements, is that the phrase ‘for the which’ brings direct focus to the specific reason already stated, and the word wherefore proceeds the reason being stated.
