Strife – Vigorous or bitter conflict, discord, or antagonism.
God used this word 43 times in Scripture: 30 times to Israel in the Masoretic Text Old Testament; once to Israel in their Koine Greek Old Testament book of Luke; 9 times to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace (Romans-Philemon); and 3 times to Israel in their tribulation books of Hebrews thru Revelation.
God gave us a partial list of abhorrable things in Galatians 5:19-21 (that He calls “works of the flesh”), which includes strife: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulation, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like.
