Promiscuous – People or things mingled confusedly or indiscriminately.
This word never appears in Scripture. But, because of this word in the definition of other words, it renders a wrong definition of another word.
The modern definition, which began in 1808, included sexual connotations; likely influenced by an ignorance of Scripture.
By 1844 the definition had morphed to mean “sexual union among races of people”; likely influenced by the slave-trade.
Today, as of 1857, the definition is “Indiscriminate sexual relations not restricted to one individual”. Again, probably influenced by a misrepresentation of Scripture.
