Perverse or Perverted – something used in a manner not intended by design.
The sense of the word has no specific or exclusive application regarding sexual behavior. A word that has a slang application is a perverted word. Example, cool is a designation of temperature. When “cool” is used to denote a state of social acceptance, the word is being perverted. When a chair is being used as a ladder, the purpose of the chair is being perverted. Gay is a word that designates a high degree of happiness, when the word is used to denote a condition of same-sex preferences, homosexuality, the word is being perverted.
The fact that a man desires a woman sexually, or a woman desires a man sexually is not in and of itself perverted, that being the intended use of men and women. The point of perversion in this example is when the sexual activity is beyond the intended use of men and women, which requires a more specific verbiage.
Homosexuality, wherein a woman desires a woman sexually, or a man desires a man sexually, or bestiality wherein a man or woman desires an animal sexually is indeed perverse because that is not God’s intended purpose of sexuality. To call it gay is perverse and misleading; you are perverting a word in an attempt to hide a perversion; specific verbiage is available and should be applied. To apply a vague term or pervert (misuse) a word shields the practice and requires no accountability from the participants.
To accurately denote the untoward behavior of a man or a woman requires a more specific verbiage; words such as whoredom, adultery, homosexuality, bestiality, etc.
Proverbs 28:18 is the admonition from God, and Romans 1:18-32 is the description, or list, of various perversions.
Proverbs 28:18 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.
Romans 1:18-32 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; [19] Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. [20] For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: [21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. [22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, [23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
