MarryJoin together; Combine harmoniously.

God used this word, in its various forms, 83 times in Scripture: 30 times to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament; 30 times to Israel in their Koine Greek Old Testament; 20 times to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace; and 3 times to Israel in their tribulation books.

In Genesis 2:24, starting with Adam and Eve, God instituted marriage.  In this institution, God instructed Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Notice that God did not institute same-sex marriages; marriage is between a man and woman.  The perversion of men devised same-sex unions, which God calls an abomination.

God reiterated it as a ‘grafting’ between them in Mark 10:8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

God’s institution of marriage becomes complete, without any public ceremony, the instant that either there is a betrothal (arranged marriage) or at the acceptance of a proposal between a man and a woman.

Religion invented the wedding ceremony/ritual.  Because of people’s dishonesty, governments record the union-agreement, via a license and witness requirement.

In the Dispensation of Grace, God’s Gospel of Grace suggests that Elders and Deacons should have one wife, and there is no mention of concubines.

For the sake of happiness and service to God, Paul suggests that a man should not marry, and that women stay unmarried: People should stay single and celibate.  But if you cannot stay celibate, it is better to marry than to burn (I Corinthians 7).
