God used this word in its various forms 190 times in Scripture: 167 times to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament; 5 times to Israel in their Koine Greek Old Testament (Matthew thru John); 5 times to the Body of Christ in the transition book of Acts; 9 times to the Body of Christ in the Gospel of Grace (Romans thru Philemon); and 4 times to Israel’s Little Flock in their tribulation books (Hebrews thru Revelation).
The key element of help is that the person being assisted must be actively involved in the process or task to wit they are being assisted. It is impossible to help someone that is inactive, it would be doing it for them, not helping.
