Congregation

CongregationA gathering or collection of people, animals, or things.

God used this word 367 times in Scripture: 366 times to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament; and once to the Body of Christ in the transition book of Acts.

In the 366 times that God used this word in Scripture, it is always in reference to His gathering of Israel.  The usage in Acts 13 is in reference to a gathering of Jews.

A congregation, inherently, has nothing to do with God.  It is simply a gathering.  But Christianity, thinking that they can steal Israel’s promises and inheritance, has attached a religious connotation to this word.  There are no congregations of God in the Dispensation of Grace.

You may attend a gathering, in a building that you refer to as a Church, which makes you part of a congregation.  But, it is simply a religious gathering.  There are no congregations of God today.

Every gathering at a pub, sporting event, political event, concert, or wherever you please, for whatever purpose you please, constitutes a congregation.  A cattle round-up is a congregation of cattle, and God has nothing at all to do with it.

At these ‘gatherings’, you can do whatever you lust-after and have the same pleasing effect toward God as any religious gathering.  Being part of a congregation does not make you holy, and congregation are not a holy convocation.
