Commend – Praise formally or officially; Present as suitable for approval or acceptance; Entrust someone or something to.
God used this term 22 times in Scripture, in all of its various forms: 3 times to Israel in their Masoretic Text Old Testament; twice to Israel in their Koine Greek Old Testament; and 17 times to the Body of Christ in the Dispensation of Grace.
In most instances, the word commend is used in the sense of “Present as suitable for approval or acceptance”, as in providing credentials; Six times in the sense of “Entrust someone or something”; and twice in the sense of “Praise formally or officially”.
