Ambassador

Ambassador – An accredited diplomat sent by a state as its permanent representative in a foreign country.

There are 3 required elements of an ambassador, which are

  1. Accredited Diplomat
  2. Permanent Representative
  3. Foreign Country

The members of the Body of Christ have the accreditation according to Scripture, as permanent representatives, and we are in a foreign country, the world.

God uses this word 13 times in Scripture; 11 times to Israel in the Old Testament, and twice to the Body of Christ.

II Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Notice that we (the Body of Christ) are ambassadors FOR Christ … not of Christ. In Christ’s earthy ministry, He was the ambassador of heaven. In His absence, God has instituted the Body of Christ to act in Christ’s stead as ambassadors of heaven.

Ephesians 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

We do not speak with our own authority. When you say “thus saith the scripture”, you had better be right; textually and dispensationally.
